Bernese
Mountain Dogs: 2004 Wall Calendar
The Bernese Mountain dog is a heavy-coated breed
that loves cold weather. These traits were most
useful for hauling milk and cheese to market for
farmers in Switzerland, where the dogs were originally
bred. These pups grow to be mighty big—often
tipping the scales on the other side of one hundred
pounds. They're pleasant lovers of children and
usually act like puppies long after they've reached
adulthood. This wonderful collection of Bernese
portraits celebrates the mighty canines. This wall
calendar features a variety of candid and still
shots paired with dog-related quotations from literature.
The result is a collection of timeless, canine portraits
that are sure to delight. The calendar includes
days of the week, months and international holidays
in English, French, Spanish and German as well as
moon phases. Also included is a bonus page featuring
September – December 2003. |

Dogs by
Keith Carter: 2004 Wall Calendar
Keith Carter moved to Beaumont, Texas, when he was
three years old and has lived in Texas ever since.
"I come from a narrative culture—a storytelling
culture. I believe in the power of narrative,"
explains Carter. Largely self-taught and a commercial
photographer for many years, he always made time
for art photography as well. Carter has found international
recognition and has published eight books of his
photographs, including Ezekiel's Horse, Heaven of
Animals, and Bones, from which this calendar draws
its warm but unsentimental canine portraits. The
calendar lists international holidays as well as
moon phases. |
